About the event
While Batata, Pao and All Things Portuguese takes us through a grand voyage of the 500 years of Portuguese dominion in India, it introduces us to so many inanimate objects, pieces of architecture, trees, bricks, words we speak, things we eat that have deep connections with our past. Were things always the way they are now? What changed? How did colonisation impact our lives? So many questions and so many different and fascinating discussions to be had around them. The book launch will have an interactive panel discussion followed by an activity for children and adults alike, and will end with book signing. That will be the beginning of more children and adults reading the book and understanding why we live the way we live, why things are the way they are. Looking forward to seeing you there.
